Joe's Parents Home in Smith Canyon

For those of you who have never been there, this is Joe's parents home in Washington. The pictures don't even come close to showing the beauty of this place. The veiws are breath taking. We love visiting here.

Hunting

We had such a good time this year for hunting season weekend!! The boys ran all over the mountain in there hunting gear! They always love it up at "Grandpa's Mountain". No deer were caught this weekend but it was really fun anyway.

Lightning

Lightning has been growing out of his naps or should I say, just fighting them. SO when mommy can't actually lay down wiht him after lunch he seems to find a place later that day and crash. This was a month or so ago and we couldn't find him anywhere and then we found him downstairs with the costume box emptied all around him and he was out! I love this little guy!

Our school Room

Joe is traveling alot this year, so we decided to homeschool the boys, this is our classroom at home in the family room. So far it has been a great experience. I love the time I get to spend with the boys and seeing all the great things they can learn. They are bonding really well too. When we travel school is easy, we are in the hotel with no other distractions. Even for me, someone else is vacuuming daily and making the beds and cooking most meals! All I have to do is play with my kids all day! I really could get use to that part!!
We have alot of extra time in the hotel room, (besides all the swimming) so we are currently reading Harry Potter, it is such a good book! I even love it!

Grampa's 60th Birthday!

It was so great to be able to be there for Grandpa Seable's birthday. Joe was traveling in San Fransisco for work so the boys and I spent 3 weeks in Idaho. It was so nice to be home for a while. Joe made it just in time to Seattle for his next job to make it to Grandpa Nykreim's 60th party. Our dads were born on the same day of the same year!!
For Grandpa's party all the Grandkids, (except our little Jake who wasn't there and Lightning who was asleep) sang to Grandpa when he came home "I'm so glad when Grandpa comes home".
Of course that brought a tear to Grandpa's eyes. It was great, they all made homemade cards for him and we shared cake and he opened presents. It was really a great night. We love our Grandpa so much!!

Conferance Weekend

I wanted to really use this a journal site, so I need to start doing that. Today is conferance weekend. We have no cable, direct tv or dish network, and didn't feel much like getting dressed up and going to the church since, the closest church anyway was having a huge funeral for a local soldier who had been in Iraq so we would have had to look for another building. Also Joe made it in at about 4:30 am so way too tired. Joe had been working out of town, in San Fancisco and Seattle, and we were in Idaho for the last 3 weeks.
So we all sat in blankets on the computer room floor this morning sipping hot chocolate and listening from the computer as the boys earned skittles for hearing specific gospel words. We made a quick trip to Sam's club for some groceries and a pizza and rushed back and had a pizza, and A & W Rootbeer party as we listened to the next session.
It was a nice day. We are going to try to do some catching up on our scripture reading tonight, just trying to come up with ways to keep the boys attention, we were thinking of getting munchies and just laying them out and just reading for a few hours. Funny how all of our things center on food!!
The boys are so happy to see Daddy again, we hope there won't be much more traveling unless we get to go with him. We will just have to wait and see.

Today at the Rockies!

We had such a fun day at the Teton River. It is just below the Rockie Mountains. There really isn't anything much prettier.
We found this quiet spot and climed or some of us slid, down and just piched a spot and stayed all afternoon. Joe and the boys had a blast floating down the river on the air mattresses we brought. It was a really fun day. I just love having our family alone in the peace and quiet away from the world, the only thing better would be to have more family with us! :)

Idaho Falls Temple

On our way home from our quick trip to Idaho, we stayed in Idaho falls. We slept in and so we found out the next sacrament meeting wasn't going to begin until 1:00. We decided to go over to the temple next door to wait. We went into the visitor center. It was such a great experience. We walked in and Sam was just looking around and then literaly shouted, "THEY HAVE THE GOLD PLATES" then went running into the next room, to see a replica of the plates in a glass box. It took a little convincing about the fact that they weren't the actual plates but it inspired great discussion. We also had the opportunity to watch the Testiments again. It was incredible. The boys had not had a chance to see it yet so it was a great experience. We made it to sacrament meeting just in time and then just afterward headed the rest of the way home. It was a a great way to end a great weekend!

Fun Day in Idaho

We had soooo much fun this day while we were in Idaho a few weeks ago. We spent the whole day at Black Canyon Dam, other then the major sunburns that the oldest two boys ended up with, it was a great day! These pictures are of, Grandpa napping, Colton in the sand, Lightning being silly, Kaylee smiling, and Emily and Abby posing! It was such a great day. We really missed Aaron, Marcia, John, Roger and Jake!! That is all this day was missing!
We got to go down to Idaho for Joe's work and we just stayed for the weekend. I hope this happens alot! :)

Marlin and Joe

This is Joe's wrestling coach from Portland State. Marlin Grahn. If it wasn't for all he did for us, we would never have gone to Portland. Marlin was so supportive of Joe and did so much for us. We will always look back at our time in Portland with great memories and we can thank Marlin for many of them.

Jacob and Lightning

It was so fun to see little Jacob on our way to Montana. It was nice to visit with Aaron and Marcia and be in there home also. We sure wish we had more time with them.

Funny Boy!

Lightning got in to the brown sugar this morning! That is twice this last week!!

John Seable Sr. Family

I found this picture today!! I love all of our hair!! Don't we all remember John's grey and white striped jacket worn with his pink dress shirt!!!!
Oh my! This was a good one! This was outside Grandma's church and I have it dated July 12, 1987.
I actually remember this day because they thought I was a laural, I felt so cool that they would think I was that old and I had just began behives! I was so wierd!! :)

Salmon River

After alot of convincing and passing around shorts (hee hee), Joe talked Scott into getting into the VERY cold river in May in Portland. To everyones surprise, Phil jumped right in and stayed out there even past Joe!!! He just said pass me my pole!! Mary, Phil, Scott and Amy are friends that we will miss from Portland. This was a fun last day at the River.

Fishing at Salmon River

Rodee had a brief lesson from our good friend Phil from Portland on one of our last outing with Phil, Mary and there girls.

Multnomah Falls

Before we left we wanted to be sure to hit some of our favorite spots. We did the hike to the top of Multnomah falls, which is no small feat, but it was worth it.

More EMP

Downtown Seattle

In June when Joe was working in Seattle the boys and I spent the day enjoying one of my favorite places in the world, downtown Seattle!!
This picture is in front of the EMP, Experience Music Project, next to the Space Needle. Grandpa Nykreim, Uncle Arnfinn and Uncle Johnny, where apart of the crew who did all the sheet metal on this strange but cool looking building.
